Lauren Gill

Lauren Gill is an artist from Tenants Harbor who enjoys diversity. She works in oils, watercolors, acrylics, as well as mixed media. Primarily a realist artist who loves color, she’s drawn to the dusk and dawn, fog and mist, all of which add to the challenge. She strives to capture the many moods of the sea, the coves, the rocks and tidal pools that delight the senses.

However, her subject matter is also very varied, consisting not just of seascapes and landscapes but also animals, birds, portraits, abstracts and, most recently pet portraits. She also works on commission. She presently works out of her home studio a short distance from the Granite Gallery. She also enjoys painting plein aire, sharing weekly outings to local sites with fellow artists and looks forward to an annual excursion to Monhegan Island.

She was a participating artist at Art Space Gallery in Rockland for four years and now exhibits at local shows and the annual SGBA Open Studio tour. She’s won a number of awards and regularly donates work to benefit local causes. She also shows her work at the Art Centers of Bonita Springs in Florida where she spends a part of each year.
